Will the upcoming game mode, Brawl, be permanent? Let’s find out.
League of Legends 2025 Season 2 has arrived, and with it, some exciting new changes. For starters, Spirit Blossom is returning, and it will be the theme for the season. As per the season theme, the Spirit Blossom Skins are returning.
Riot has already announced seven brand new Spirit Blossom skins, and more are arriving later during the event. In addition, we will be getting a brand new champion called Yunara. She will be a Marksmen champion and is heavily tied to the spirit blossom theme.
Finally, Riot will add a brand new game mode called Brawl, along with the Spirit Blossom event. It’s a new 5v5 game mode that takes place in the legendary Yordle city called Bandle City. The game mode is similar to Summoners Rift in a sense, but instead of taking the enemy Nexus, players are required to escort Minions to the opponent’s portal.
Speaking of portals, there is a portal called the Bandle Portal on each side of the map, and the main objective is to escort Monions through the portals to lower the opponent team’s health. Takedown on opponent champions also reduces the enemy team’s health. Each team begins with 250 health, and the goal of the game mode is to reduce the opponent’s health to 0.

Will Brawl Be Permanent?
For every game mode Riot releases, there is the question: Will it be permanent? That’s what we are here to answer today.
The short answer to the question is no. However, there is a chance it could be permanent. According to Riot, if Brawl could retain a solid player base, it could actually become permanent.
Player retention has been one of the biggest problems haunting most of League of Legends’ game modes. After a couple of weeks, players stop playing the game mode, leading to the game mode’s retirement. Riot has been trying to solve this issue for a while now, and unless they are successful in solving the problem, game modes will not be permanent.
Now, as for how long Brawl will be available, according to Riot, it will be up for about three patches, so it will be available till Patch 25.13, which is scheduled to release on June 25, 2025.
