Riot has unveiled the upcoming elemental dragon, Ice Drake, exclusive to Wild Rift.
While the main objective of League of Legends is to destroy the opponent’s nexus, the game has other side objectives. And one of the most notable ones is the dragons.
Dragons or Drakes are in-game objectives residing in the bot lane. If a team slays a dragon, then that team is granted bonus buffs. Moreover, if a team kills a specific amount of drakes, they will earn a dragon soul. Dragon Soul grants an even bigger and stronger buff, which makes coming back harder for the opposing team.
Excluding Elder Dragon, there are currently three elemental dragons in Wild Rift. They are Infernal, Ocean, and Earth drakes. Furthermore, once the first dragon is slain, the rift will transform into the element of that specific drake.
But in the recent Wild Rift patch preview, Riot has confirmed and showcased the upcoming elemental drake in patch 4.2, Ice Dragon. Moreover, it is also an exclusive dragon for Wild Rift.

Wild Rift: Ice Dragon
Here is everything you have to know about the Ice Drake. Firstly slaying him will grant your team bonus ability haste.
And if the Ice Dragon happens to be the first dragon slain, the rift will transform into frozen terrain. Nearby existing terrain, ice will start to spawn. If the player walks by the specific ice, that player will gain bonus movement speed. It is similar to Taliyah’s passive, where she spawns a rock skate next to the terrain to increase her movement speed.
Alongside ice in the terrain, players can also find a new type of fruit in the jungle, Frozen Fruit. Destroying the fruit will throw a projectile in the aimed direction. And if an enemy gets hit, they will get stunned. It works similarly to Sejuani’s ult, but the stun duration is very short, and the stunned enemy will be invulnerable.
Release Date
The Ice Drake will be added to Wild Rift in patch 4.2, scheduled to release on May 25, 2023.
