Warzone 2.0 is out, and everyone is enjoying every bit of what it has to offer. The game has incredible visuals, a new map, a new game mode, and more. Additionally, Activision and Infinity Ward tried to fix everything they lacked in the first Warzone.

Although the game is great, Warzone 2.0 is currently facing a lot of issues. Tons of bugs and glitches are present in the game. However, it is not uncommon for a game to experience issues like these upon initial release.

Nonetheless, players are more worried about the high latency and ping issues that they are facing in almost every Warzone 2.0 and DMZ match. No matter how many times they restart their game or verify the game files, the problem does not seem to resolve.

Why Does Latency or Ping Issue Occur in Warzone 2.0?

As Warzone 2.0 just launched recently, millions of players are trying out the game. As a result, the servers are overflooded with new and old players. It will take a little bit of time before Warzone 2.0 servers are stable once again.

Apart from the capacity issue, a poor or unstable internet connection from your end may also be another reason why your latency or ping is high in Warzone 2.0.

How to Fix Latency or Ping Issues in Warzone 2.0

Unfortunately, if server-sided issues are causing your latency or ping to be high, there’s nothing you can do. However, you can check Warzone 2.0’s server status to find out if Warzone 2.0 is facing connectivity issues or not.

If the issues are not server-sided, you can try some workarounds to improve your latency or ping in Warzone 2.0.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  • Internet troubleshooting for PC:
    • If you have a VPN. Open and connect to it.
    • If not, download Cloudfare WARP.
    • Open Cloudfare WARP and connect to it.
    • If you are using the battle.net client. Go to Warzone 2.0> Click on the Globe icon> Select the specific region you are located in.
    • Restart Warzone 2.0.
  • Internet troubleshooting for PS4/ PS5:
    • Turn off your PS4 > press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps> select “Rebuild database/Clear cache and rebuild database.”
    • Go to Settings> Network> Test Internet Connection and check connectivity.
    • Restart Warzone 2.0.
  • For XBOX
    • Press the Xbox button > Profile > Settings
    • After that, go to General > Sleep mode & startup > Full shutdown > Shut down > unplug the power cable for 20-30 seconds > plug the power cable back in > turn on your console.
    • Then go to Xbox network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.
    • Restart Warzone 2.0.
  • Wait for the server load to reduce:
    • If nothing above works, it is most likely because the Warzone servers are overloaded with players. So, wait for a few moments and try again later.
