As a new Warframe with a devil theme, Uriel is set to shake up the game’s lineup and story when it officially comes to the game in December 2025. You should keep an eye on this full reveal because it has gothic imagery, Orokin-Sentient undertones, and the next big quest line called “the old peace” is coming up.
First Look: Design & Lore Vibes
During TennoCon 2025, it was formally announced that Uriel would be part of the next update, called The Old Peace. The frame has a remarkable devil-themed design, with black armor that seems like it has cracks that look like flames, a pointed tail, and hints of hellish style.
Lore-wise, Uriel is linked to a side narrative called the Devil’s Triad, which also includes two new proto-frames for Harrow and Wisp. These stories deal with the Albrecht Entrati arc and other Orokin mysteries.
Abilities & Gameplay Speculation
As of writing, only Uriel’s first ability has been revealed. The first ability literally makes you a living drill that can fly across the map. Players will also be able to shift in and out of this drill form. Also, Uriel will have three little devil companions who are gonna float around him. According to the dev, you won’t have to individually control these familiars. Instead, they are going to run around on their own, and you have to react to what they do to receive buffs, protection, or other attributes.
We don’t yet know all of Uriel’s formal abilities, but we do have enough information from several previews and news articles to make some educated guesses on how this frame might play.
Because of the infernal architecture, the additional powers may include fire damage, spreading corruption/status, controlling or manipulating enemies, or “deal with the devil” mechanics (sacrificing or buffing in exchange for anything else).
Release Window
Uriel is slated to release with the Old Peace update in December 2025. This update is described as a major story chapter bridging to the 2026 expansion.
Uriel could become one of the most popular frames in a long time because it has great looks, a lot of lore, and works well with big new content. We still don’t know all the details about the abilities, but it’s apparent that a diabolical, story-heavy, thematic frame will come out in late 2025.
