In the next update, Riot Games is removing Split from competitive and unrated map pool in VALORANT.
VALORANT is Riot Games’ foray into the highly competitive first-person tactical shooter genre of games. Despite solid competition from CS: GO and Overwatch, Riot Games managed to garner a dedicated player base consisting of players from different FPS games.
Since VALORANT’s release, it has undergone constant changes to maintain its competitive integrity. Riot Game changes Maps, Weapons, Agents, and other aspects with every update to change the ongoing meta.
Currently, there are seven unique maps in VALORANT. Every map has its pros and cons, and because of that, some maps are more preferred over others. VALORANT released Fracture as its last map in September 2021. However, almost one year later, Riot Games is releasing a new map called “Pearl” in the next 5.00 patch.

Split is Removed From Map Pool
It is not uncommon for VALORANT to modify maps to improve the competitive experience. Split is one of the most controversial maps in VALORANT. It is also one of the difficult ones in the game. As a result, many players don’t like this map.
However, things are going to change as Riot Games is removing Split from the Competitive and Unrated map pool in VALORANT. As the new map “Pearl” is coming to VALORANT, this seems like a well-thought-out decision by Riot Games. And many players will be happy that they no longer have to Play Split.
When Will Split be Removed?
There is no solid information on when VALORANT will remove split from the game. However, expect it to happen in the following 5.00 patch, which will go live on June 22, 2022.
