Riot Games has unveiled its plan for VALORANT Champions Tour 2024. New teams joining, venues for major events, championship points, and a new official region- here is everything about the VCT 2024 roadmap.
The VALORANT Champions Tour, or VCT, is the global championship series for VALORNT. Every year, Riot Games plans two Masters events followed by The Champions – where teams from different regions fight for the ultimate glory. Teams need to qualify for the regional battle first.
In VCT 2023, we have seen the inclusion of the International League of three regions. Now, in 2024, Riot is planning to add one more region to the list. The upcoming year also includes a new point system to qualify, a progressive league system, and a new venue for global events.
Focusing on reshaping the overall competition, the VCT 2024 is preparing for an exciting year ahead.

VCT 2024 Roadmap
VCT 2024 is divided into three categories.- Premier, Challenger and International Leagues. While Tier 1 competition will be in International Leagues, New and upcoming team can make their places through the Premier.
VCT 2024 Premier Schedule
Premier is VALORANT’s in-game competitive tournament system. Players from all over the world can take part in Premiers. Starting this year, top teams from the Premier can qualify for the next stage of Challengers. There will be a total of Three Premier tournaments and the first two will be a chance of promotion to Challengers.

VCT 2024 Challengers Schedule
Riot Games continues to evolve the already-established Challengers format in 2024. The Challenger calendar will run through the whole year, concluding with the Challenger Ascension. The best teams from Challengers Ascension can join with the best teams in the world from VCT 2025. This year, Ascension takes place after the Champions event so that new teams receive much more exposure.

VCT 2024 Global Events Schedule
There will be a total of seven tournaments taking place in 2024.
The top level of competition in VALORANT will take place through a Kick- off tournament. The best teams from every region will take part in an exciting two-week tournament. The top 8 team will qualify for the first major global event- Masters Madrid.
Following Masters, Madrid Teams will battle through first International League. The top 12 team will qualify for the second Masters of the season in Shanghai, China.
The top 16 teams in VCT will then finally face off in VALORANT CHAMPIONS 2024. However, The season will end with the VALORANT Game Changers Championship, as the last global event of the year.

VCT 2024: International League Teams
This year, the International League will see four official regions. China is officially joining as the fourth official region in VCT with North America, EMEA, and Pacific. Since the official release of VALORANT in China, Riot has seen enormous popularity and potential in the Chinese community. Hence, including China as the official region and launching Masters 2 in Shanghai, China will officially write China’s name on VCT’s global map.
Finally, the top contenders of the previous year’s Ascension from each region are officially joining the franchise for International Leagues. The teams are – The Guard from North America, Gentle Mates from EMEA, and Bleed Esports from the Pacific region.

Starting in 2024, the top teams arising from the in-game system Premier will get a chance to qualify directly from the game into Challengers. Top-tier teams’ qualification for the Champions will be determined by their recent performances and Championship points altogether.
