After many years, Brand is finally getting a VFX update in League of Legends.
League of Legends was released around 15 years ago. Since it is an old game, many things, especially the visuals, haven’t aged well.
So, in recent years, we have seen many visual updates in the game. These visual updates could range from small splash art changes to overhauling a champion entirely by doing a VGU or Visual and Gameplay Update.
Recently, they have started doing some ASU as well. With ASU, Riot can fully overhaul a champion’s in-game visuals without changing kit. For now, we have gotten Caitlyn and Ahri. Additionally, Riot has announced two upcoming ASU last year. They are Lee Sin and Teemo.
But ASU requires a lot of work and isn’t as fast as some other visual updates. So besides that, Riot also does some VFX updates to make sure the effects are clear, understandable, and also look good. And one of the upcoming champions receiving such VFX updates is Brand.
Brand is one of the oldest champions in the game. Due to this, a lot of his VFX looks pale. But now that he is getting some VFX updates, let’s check them out.

League of Legends: Brand VFX Update
Let’s first discuss the classic Brand.
Firstly, players can now distinguish his Q, as it’s a lot bigger.
Brand’s W now has an eruption effect, which looks amazing.
However, the part that players are not happy about is his new passive circle. Instead of being un-even, it’s completely round now. This looks completely weird if you are already used to the current Brand VFX.
Additionally, the fire effects are more distinct than ever. It now highlights enemies in orange, making it clear who’s burning.
Now, here’s a list of all the skins that got changed with this update:
- Vandal Brand
- Apocalyptic Brand
- Battle Boss Brand
- Spirit Fire Brand
- Cryocore Brand
- Zombie Brand
With these updates, we can expect even more VFX updates for other champions in the near future.
