In the best-of-five grand finals, TSM came out on top of the marathon by securing a 3-1 scoreline. Team Empire, who advanced to the SI grand finals by defeating TSM in the upper bracket finals, failed to topple this NA team in the grand final rematch. Team Empire now have failed to lift the hammer twice after making it to the SI finals.
On the other hand, TSM failed to qualify for SI through the Global Points table and later had to earn their ticket to Sweden by winning the NA SI Qualifiers. Their story started from there and ended by lifting the special SI hammer in Sweden for the first time.
This victory gives North America its third Hammer, and the region now holds the record for most SI wins, leaving EU’s two and LATAM’s one win behind.
TSM’s win also ends the reign of the LATAM region, as they have been dominating the International R6 events since 2020. The next R6 May Major will be held in USA and hopefully we will see the return of on-site crowd in that event.
