Top lane champions are getting an indirect buff as Riot is planning to buff Teleport in the upcoming patch 10.6.

Mark Yetter, the Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends, tweeted today about the upcoming change for the patch 10.6. And he mentioned Teleport is getting a buff in the patch 10.6.

New Teleport Changes:

  • Cooldown: 360>>480-240 by level.
  • [NEW] Teleport now grants 3 seconds of 30-45% Movement speed on arrival based on the champion level.

In season 8 when the teleport was broken as it was abused by every role, and in pro plays there were like 8-10 teleports every game. Riot increased its cooldown from 300 to 360 in patch 8.24. With the cooldown nerf and no refund on cooldown when it gets canceled, Teleport’s popularity did reduce a bit and many top laners started to use Ignite instead.

In season 10, Top lane has been a little wired as there are many off-meta picks. And many players started to call Top lane useless. But, Riot did hear about the complaints and they are now working on making Top lane a bit more impactful.

Previously they got rid of support champions in patch 10.5. And now in the upcoming patch 10.6, Riot is also indirectly buffing every top lane champions with the new Teleport buff.
