After a long wait to lift an international Rainbow Six major title, Team BDS have finally done it as they beat Team Liquid in the grand finals to become the Jönköping Major Champions.
After an enthralling best-of-five series, Team BDS have come out on top, defeating the LATAM giants Team Liquid with a 3-2 scoreline.
With both Team BDS and Liquid advancing through to the Jönköping Major finals, all eyes were on Stéphane “Shaiiko” Lebleu and Luccas “Paluh” Molina, two of the best Siege players of all time. Both of them had yet to lift an International Rainbow Six Major trophy, which made the battle even more captivating.
The BO5 series ended with Shaiiko getting 55 kills, the sixth-most in best-of-five history. BDS’s newest member Théo “LikEfac” Mariano’s performance should also be highlighted, as he had huge pressure as a youngster at one of the biggest stages of Siege esports.
Team BDS will take home not just $200,000 in prize money, but also a slew of additional Six Invitational points, which will be sufficient to secure the team’s spot in the top competition in February 2023.
