Here is everything you need to know about getting houses and properties in Starfield.
Starfield is a space-oriented RPG game by the famous Bethesda Games Studios. In many aspects, the game is quite different from past titles, such as character traits, customizable ships, hijacking ships, and total freedom in space exploration. The game also shares similar features with the previous Skyrim and Fallout series. Those features include detailed character customizations, several bases to build on different planets, survival instincts, and many more.
You may want to take breaks from your space adventure as you are out in space fighting and traveling to other worlds. You can settle down in a house to rest and organize your weapons, gear, items, armor, and other belongings. In the game, there are multiple ways to get houses and properties that you can choose from. Here, we will go through all those methods. Hop in!
How to Get Houses and Property in Starfield
Character Trait
You can pick the “Dream Home Trait” along with two other traits during character creation. Selecting this trait will allow you to purchase a new house in a quiet, idyllic world. However, it comes with a 125,000-credit mortgage with GalBank. This bank appears to have a monopoly on banking even in the year 2330. You must fully pay the mortgage to truly call the house your own. You can pay the amount in full, or you can pay it in 500-credit weekly installments. It is the easiest way to get a house in the game.
However, if you choose the “Kid Stuff” character trait, you will have your parents and their house, which you can customize.
Purchase House
Another way to get a house on Starfield is to purchase it from specific NPCs or vendors in charge of those properties. Depending on the specifications, buying the houses will cost you credits. It would help if you became a United Colonies citizen to buy a home in New Atlantis, which you can obtain by completing UC missions. You can automatically become a United Colonies citizen by selecting the “United Colonies Native” background on the character creation part.
Get House as Quest Rewards
By completing the United Colonies questline, you can get a luxurious Mercury Tower Penthouse as a quest reward. This house is spacious and comfortable for a free one, and the storyline of this quest is also exciting and easy to complete.
