Respawn’s official announcement has revealed that Skull Town is coming back to Kings Canyon in season 14 of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends was a surprise in the battle royale market in February 2019. The game had introduced so many interesting features that attracted a huge player base from other battle royale and FPS games. Within one month of the release, 50 million players started playing Apex Legends.

The Legend system, precise gunplay, and fast-paced gameplay made Apex Legends enjoyable to many players. However, in the beginning, there was not as much content in the game as it is now in Season 12. The game had been released with only eight Legends and one map called Kings Canyon.

Going for squad wipes, third-party, respawning teammates, taking 1v3 clutches, everything about the map made it captivating. Skull Town was one such place where arguably most of the actions would take place on the Kings Canyon map. It was a paradise for pros and streamers as they could get their 20 bombs if they had a good start in Skull Town.

As a result, regardless of pros or casual players, everyone had built a sentimental attachment to Skull Town because they had so many memories in that place until, in Season 5, Skull Town was removed from the Kings Canyon map. Following that, many players were unhappy about the removal of Skull Town, but the devs of Apex Legends said that a change was necessary to keep the game fresh.

Return of Skull Town in Kings Canyon

After the removal of Skull Town, there had been many controversies on whether it was or wasn’t a good idea to remove Skull Town from the map. Though new locations have been added to the game, it didn’t stop the players from wanting back the iconic location of the map.

However, previous leaks have revealed that the iconic Skull Town might be brought back to Kings Canyon with some added spices and changes. By the look of the leaks, the location is still in development. But it gives a pretty much clear idea of what the reworked Skull Town will look like.

The boundaries will be made of metal frames instead of the original hilly rocks, the big building in the middle of Skull Town will be removed, and instead of putting Thunderdome back in the game, they are placing a nice little playable location at the back of Skull Town.

When Will Skull Town Return to Kings Canyon?

The reworked Skull Town was in development mode, and there had been no solid information regarding when it would come back. However, with the Season 14 announcement, Respawn gave us a pretty clear hint that Skull Town is actually returning to King’s Canyon in Season 14.

In the announcement, it says, “Time changes everything, and Kings Canyon is no exception. What will rise from the ashes of the past?” The only thing that may rise from the ashes has to be the skull town. The previous Gaiden Event trailer is also proof of this. So, expect Skull Town to make its official debut on August 9, 2022.
