Apex Legends might experience another drastic rank system change in the upcoming seasons. Is Respawn cooking something, or is it just a myth?
Apex Legends is a highly popular and competitive Battle Royale. Its regular BR is undoubtedly goated. However, for players who want to endure the nail-biting competitive experience, rank mode is the way to go.
Despite the rank mode’s evergreen popularity, it also has some noticeable flaws. For a long time now, the developers have been trying to find the perfect strategy to keep the ranked mode fun to play and competitively balanced.
However, it looks like no matter what they do, something is always missing, and they are always looking for the missing piece of the puzzle. As a result, nothing works out the way they expect. So, maybe it’s just time to revert back to the old system.

Rank to go Back to the Old System?
Osvaldatore, a reliable leaker in the Apex Legends community, recently shared some insights regarding a potential rank system reset. According to him, the Apex rank system may return to the Season 12 or 13 system.
Apex Ranked to be returned to either Season 12 or Season 13 system (“S12 most likely”)
The leaker also mentioned clearly that it is a rumor. So, it is likely that the idea of reverting the rank system back to the old one is still developing. However, let’s keep in mind that Osvaldatore has been mostly accurate with his previous leaks. So, there’s an excellent possibility that Respawn may change the ranked system once again in the next season or in the future.
In Season 12, Apex Legends experienced a massive surge in Masters players. Many players in the community, including most pros, complained about the ranked system being too easy. So, after listening to community feedback, Respawn made drastic changes to rank in Season 13.
However, the Season 13 rank system was not free from flaws either. Since Season 13, Respawn made several iterations to the existing ranked system with every season. However, none worked out as they expected.
On top of that, the playerbase continued to decline in numbers. So, Respawn may be wondering if the previous system was actually good for the community.
