After massive backlash from the overall League of Legends community, Riot has released some Updates to the Viktor VGU skins in the PBE.
League of Legends was released over 15 years ago. The thing that made this game stand out compared to its competitors was the unique playable champions. One of the champions who was released in the early years was Viktor.
Viktor was released back in 2011. And the thing that made him unique compared to other mages was his evolution mechanic. Basically, he would spawn with an item called Prototype Hex Core and when Viktor upgrades the item, he could evolve one of his basic abilities. In preseason 11, Viktor received the last massive change. His Hex Core was replaced by Hex Fragments. So now, he could evolve his abilities without buying an extra item.
Even with that said, Viktor’s design has remained the same all these years. Even though the old Viktor was unique and amazing in his own right, Arcane Viktor was overall a better character. And with the release of Arcane season 2, Riot found a perfect opportunity to reveal the Viktor VGU.
While Viktor VGU is a massive improvement overall, there are a lot of players who still prefer the old Viktor. Players especially didn’t like some of the updated Viktor skins. Therefore, Riot has updated two of Viktor’s skins in the PBE, Deathsworn Viktor, and Creator Viktor.

League of Legends Viktor VGU: Skin Updates
Death Sworn Viktor
The first skin that got updated is Death Sworn Viktor. For context, the old Death Sworn Viktor wears a unique-looking mask. While may be edgy, it still makes ian an amazing-looking skin. People are still affectionate towards it. So when initially Riot revealed that the new skin wouldn’t have the mask, they were furious. Due to this, Riot brought back the mask.
Additionally, there are some other tweaks like the extra hand glows a lot more, and there are more details around the hood. Overall, a great update with this one.
Creator Viktor
Unlike Death Sworn Viktor, Creator Viktor is not getting that massive of a change. But the change is mostly about the color grading. With the new updated skin, it looks even darker and the coat now has even more detail. Additionally, the red accent now pops out even more.
Overall, the update with both of the skins looks amazing, and certainly worth it in the end.
