Riot intends to update bot difficulties in the near future.

League of Legends is notoriously one of the hardest games to get into. The game has tons of mechanics, items, and other components that make the game very hard for a new player to grasp. To mitigate issues like these, most modern video games have extensive Tutorial/Training mode built into the game.

But unfortunately, League of Legends has a really lackluster Tutorial/Training mode. The game has a basic Tutorial system that only teaches the basic controls to newer players. Moreover, the ‘Co-Op VS. AI’ mode, which was supposed to teach the newer players the fundamentals of the game, is severely outdated.

Co-Op VS. AI mode only has a limited selection of champions. Also, these bots don’t use appropriate Runes, Spells or appear in the correct lane positions. In addition, it is impossible to learn the Jungle role by following the Tutorial or playing Co-Op VS. AI.

So, to improve the new player experience, Riot recently announced that they would be updating the bots in Co-Op VS. AI mode with better AI.

Updated Bot Difficulties

In a recent Dev Blog, Riot announced that they would introduce brand-new Bots to League of Legends. These bots will have updated AI and are expected to support all 160+ champions in the game. In addition, they will be able to Jungle, Gank, take Objectives, and have proper role assignments.

Currently, the bots are set to be out on only one difficulty, Intro Bots. Also, after further testing, Riot intends to add more difficulties to bots. One of Riot’s goals is to replace all current bot features with the new Bots. Once successful, Riot will enable the feature to add bots in custom games.
