Starting in early January, the Honor Shop along with Honor Tokens will be removed from the game.
One of the biggest problems that League of Legends faces is its toxic player base. League’s player base is notoriously toxic even compared to other online titles. Many players of the game fall victim to flaming, trolling, griefing, and harassment on a daily basis.
Over the years, Riot Games has taken many measures to stop toxicity. From the retired Tribunal system to the current Report System, over the years, Riots have taken many steps to combat the phenomenon. However one of the most popular systems Riot implemented still remains the Honor System.
The Honor System allows players can give commendations to their fellow teammates after the match concludes. The more a player gives out or receives these commendations, the higher their honor level rises. At honor level 5 players are given an exclusive honor skin at the end of the year.
Two honor Skins have already been released The Honors Malzahar and Three Honors Akshan in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Moreover, Riot has revealed the honor Skin for 2024 called Three Honors Shen.
That said, Riot recently announced that they would be removing the honor skins system and the honor shop, starting next year.

Honor Shop and Tokens Removed
In a recent Dev Blog, Riot announced that the Honor Shop and Tokens will be removed from League of Legends.
The reasoning behind such a big shift was due to the system feeling inadequate. Riot believes that the system has become more of a checkbox that players hit at the end of the Ranked season for a free skin. Thus it is being removed.
However, Riot is not outright removing the honor system as a whole. Instead, Riot is reworking the system so it fits more with the 2025 Season system structure. Starting next year, the honor level will be tied directly to how you are rewarded in the game. A positive honor level will grant you increased pass experience which will increase as your honor level does.
Social capabilities such as All Chat, post-game chat, pings, and emote frequencies will also be directly related to your honor level. So if you have a high honor level you can use these functions more freely, while lower honor players will have these functions restricted.
As for honor skins and tokens, Riot will be adding all the honor skins to the Honor Shop one last time. Players who have leftover Honor Tokens can pick these skins up. If you have leftover honor tokens, each token will be converted to 1050 Orange Essence.
The final Honor Shop will be coming to League of Legends on January 6, so be sure to pick up all the honor skins.
