As the League of Legends Preseason 2024 is right around the corner, Riot has finally revealed the trailer of it.
At the end of every year and after the League of Legends Worlds, Riot Games releases preseason as a preparation for the next season that will come in the upcoming year.
Preseason is considered the most significant update of the year, as it includes the most amount of changes that drastically change the game. Moreover, before the preseason starts, Riot ends the ranked season so that players can try out and test every new addition to the game without thinking about the meta.
Preseason 2023 was one of the most underwhelming preseason of all time. It had few additions, and the new tank items and the reworked Ravenous Hydra completely ruined the game’s meta. Some good of that preseason are Hexgates at ARAM and the reintroduction of Chemtech Drake.
With all that said, Riot did add more content to the game after the mid-season, which kept the game healthy in the long run. And as the end of the year is on the horizon, Riot has unveiled the Preseason 2024 trailer.

League of Legends Preseason 2024
There’s a lot to cover from this short one-minute trailer. So, let’s start with the small changes first. Both Baron Nashor and Rift Herald are getting model and texture changes. Now, they look more frightening and of higher quality than before.
Now, for some actual big changes and additions, there are new void creatures similar to Rift Herald but smaller. Similar to Herald, they also have a weak spot at the back. So they will probably spawn before Herald and might provide some much-needed buffs.
Moreover, there are void versions of red buff, blue buff, and Scuttle Crab. It’s still unknown if it’s only a texture change or if they provide additional buffs, but we will know about it soon.
Riot is also changing Rift Herald’s siege mechanic, where now an allied champion can hide inside Herald and push alongside it. Moreover, when Herald dies, some void creature spawns around it to deal some extra damage.
Even though we knew about this change before, Summoner’s Rift is undergoing some massive changes. While we still don’t have all the details of what’s exactly changing, it will definitely change the game’s flow.
According to Riot Phroxzon, this is the largest preseason of League of Legends ever. And it is shaping up to be just that. Since this trailer still doesn’t show everything, we can expect more reveals in the upcoming dev log.
