Yuumi receives some hotfix buffs after her recent nerfs demolished her win rate.
Since the magical cat Yuumi was released in the game, she has been a tough champion to balance. Initially, she was known as “underpowered” and “useless.” Even after her buffs, players didn’t think that Yuumi was a viable pick. However, after the pros started picking her, the players quickly realized how broken she was.
After that, Riot has been continually balancing her so that she can be playable in both pro and ranked games. But in the pro-play, she got a very high pick rate before patch 12.16.
As she synergized well with most of the current meta picks and also had strong scaling in the late game, Riot nerfed her E – Zoomies‘ bonus movement speed from 20% (+ 6% per 100 AP) to 20% (+ 2% per 100 AP) and the cooldown from 12-8 seconds to 12-10 seconds.
Even though these nerfs were only active for a few hours, Yuumi’s win rate has dropped from 48.72% to less than 45% in the plat+ elo. Because of this reason, Yuumi is getting a hotfix buff in this mid-patch update.

The lead designer of League of Legends’ balance team, Riot Phroxzon, confirmed on Twitter why they were hot fixing Yuumi. They are trying to add some power back to Yuumi in a way that is not super focused on E. According to Riot, her E is in a better long-term spot right now, but Yuumi is weak overall.
Yuumi Hotfix Buffs
- Q Base Damage (unempowered): 50/80/110/140/170/200 >>> 50/90/130/170/210/250
- Q Base Damage (empowered): 60/100/140/180/220/260 (+2/3.2/4.4/5.6/6.8/8% Of The Target’s Current Health) >>> 60/110/160/210/260/310 (+3/4.2/5.4/6.6/7.8/9% Of The Target’s Current Health)
- R Cooldown: 130/110/90 Seconds >>> 110/100/90 Seconds
Even though, Yuumi’s E – Zoomies’ Bonus movement speed boost was nerfed. The base movement speed boost remains the same.
On the other hand, her Q buffs should give her a lane advantage, especially in the mid to late-game scenarios. In addition, it should make harassing and punishing enemy laner much easier.
Her R- Final Chapter is probably the most significant buff for the early laning scenario. Now her ultimate recharge is 20 seconds faster than before. In addition, Yuumi’s ult is one of the strongest CC abilities in the game. And having a faster cooldown on this ability early on should make Yuumi stay with her carry and have her be viable during most situations.
According to Riot Phroxzon, in the long term, they are interested in reducing Yuumi’s level of force multiplication with fighters and making her happier about sticking with her ADC. However, since forcing ADCs to lane 1v2, abandoning them to minimize the counterplay of fighters isn’t a healthy experience for everyone involved.
