The release date for Briar has been confirmed.
With the launch of Naafiri, the obvious question that comes to mind is when will Riot release their next champion? Well, Riot themselves has recently come out and answered the question.
The next champion that is coming to League of Legends is called Briar. She was announced earlier this year, alongside Naafiri and the Ink Mage, in the Season 2023 | LoL Pls video. In the video Lexi “Riot Lexical,” Gao gave us a glimpse into Briar by teasing us that she would be a “Hangry Jungler.”
Since then, we’ve learned a few new details about Briar. According to Riot, Briar will be the first vampire to be brought to the game, as Vladimir has been categorized as a Hemomancer rather than a vampire. When discussing Briar, Riot also made several allusions to frenzies, bloodlust, and insatiable desire. As a result, we can anticipate some sort of “Hunger” mechanics coming with the champion.
As for the release date of Briar, Riot has recently come out and given a release window for her release.
Briar Release Date
According to the new information given by Riot, it seems we will be getting Briar earlier than expected. In a recent Reddit post, Riot Meddler, The Head of League Studio, stated that Briar would be out before worlds. So we can expect her sometime in September.
The precise date is still unknown. However, she is highly likely to be released on Patch 13.18 or 13.19, which are scheduled to be released on September 13th or September 27th, respectively. This also means Briar will not be available at Worlds 2023.
