Players LP will now be refunded if they were intentionally sabotaged.
Griefing has been one of the biggest problems in League of Legends in recent years. If you don’t know what griefing is, it refers to the act of intentionally sabotaging a player’s game to make them lose the game. It has been a major problem for many players, and the act is increasing as the years go on.
Unlike traditional forms of League of Legends toxicity, such as flaming and spam pinging; griefing is harder to stop. Players can just mute the player who is raging in chat, but there’s no solid way for you to stop a Nunu from running it down in minute three.
Riot’s detection system usually bans these players after a game or two, but these buggers have found a way to circumvent that. These players now “soft int”, meaning they don’t hard run it down, but do things like taking the Junglers’ camps, leaving ADC’s to 1v2 to make the game impossible to win. They do this whilst having somewhat decent KDA, so Riot’s detection system thinks that they just had a bad game.
Riot definitely knows about this issue and has been trying to fix it for a while. However, with the latest update, Riot claims that they have finally fixed it.

Improved Detection & LP Refund
In the latest Patch 25.09 update, Riot made a massive update to the detection system, making it much potent in detecting toxicity and griefing.
They also made it so that if a player you report gets punished, you are notified, and their name is now shown. So, you can now finally know if the “XXFioramasterXX” that flamed you last game has been punished or not.
In addition, players are now eligible for an LP refund if they had been griefed previously. However, you will only be given a refund if the perpetrator was detected and punished by the system.
