Respawn Entertainment reportedly has much bigger plans for the Amps system in Apex Legends, with the developer indicating that the mechanic will continue to grow through future additions. The news suggests Amps are becoming a more permanent part of Apex’s evolving Battle Royale sandbox rather than a feature that will simply disappear after a few seasons.
The latest information was shared by Apex Legends insider HYPERMYST, who reports that Respawn plans to continue expanding the system. While Respawn has not yet detailed exactly what the next additions will be, the studio’s treatment of Amps over the past year supports the idea that the mechanic is here to stay.

Apex Legends Amps Are Becoming a Bigger Part of the Game
Legend Amps originally arrived with Apex Legends: Showdown in August 2025. Respawn described them as lootable passive abilities designed to let players adapt their build depending on their playstyle, squad composition and the situation they find themselves in.
At launch, there were five different Amps, including Infinite Ammo, Bottomless Batteries, Over Armor, Heal Overflow and Power Booster. Players could only equip one at a time, forcing them to make a meaningful choice based on their current setup.
Since then, Respawn has repeatedly adjusted the system instead of abandoning it. Infinite Ammo was later expanded to work with Care Package weapons, while other Amps received balance and availability changes. Respawn previously said it was pleased with the design space provided by most Amps because they allowed players to adapt to different situations and customize their playstyle.
More Apex Legends Amps Could Be Coming
The system remains integrated into Apex Legends in Season 30, with the Marked update continuing to include Amps throughout the loot ecosystem. Respawn even increased Amp availability in locations such as World’s Edge Vaults and Olympus’ Icarus Bridge while restructuring other high-tier loot.
With Respawn now reportedly planning further additions, Amps could become another long-term layer of Apex’s loadout customization alongside Legend upgrades, weapons, and attachments.
Exactly what Respawn plans to add remains unknown, but the continued investment in Amps makes it clear that the system still has plenty of room to grow.
