The studio has revealed that the upcoming Star Wars Mandalorian game is in early development.

New reports revealed that Respawn Entertainment is developing a first-person Star Wars Mandalorian game. According to the report, the game will be set in the Star Wars universe, where the players will take control of a Mandalorian bounty hunter in the game. The Mandalorian’s job is to capture bounties, dead or alive, for cash rewards.

The game is reportedly in the early stages of development, and it will not be an open-world title but will have linear levels taking place on different planets in the Star Wars universe. Mohammad Alavi, the former creative director at Respawn Entertainment, led the project before he left the company.

Respawn Will Not Cancel The Mandalorian Game

According to a report by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, the Star Wars Mandalorian game was being led by Mohammad Alavi, who left the studio to pursue his next adventure. After he departed from the company, Respawn did not cancel the project but proceeded with the developments. Mohammad Alavi posted on Twitter/X that it is “the end of an era” and did not reveal where he is headed.

The game will be focused mostly on mobility and style as guiding principles. Furthermore, the Mandalorian jetpack made the high mobility mechanics possible in the upcoming game, which will help perform horizontal dashing, vertical jumping, boost sliding, and more. Some of the movements of the game might be similar to Apex Legends and will be very fast-paced; in addition, the player’s health will regenerate based on successive kills.

Previously, it was rumored that Respawn is working on a single-player game in the Apex Legends or Titanfall universe. However, after the departure of Mohammad Alavi, Respawn revealed a few pieces of information and confirmed that the title is a Star Wars Mandalorian game. Moreover, the game will be one of the third projects Alavi was working on besides Apex Legends and the Star Wars Jedi series.

Respawn will keep working for a year or two on more prototype concepts for the game. So fans can expect the game to be released in 2025 or later if the studio takes time to finish developing the game.
