A reputed CoD leaker has claimed that classic MW2 maps will return in Modern Warfare 2. Here’s everything we know about it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the most anticipated game of 2022. The game is the direct sequel to MW (2019). However, this is a hard reboot of the original MW universe. Infinity Ward created the first MW2 in 2009.
The classic MW2 is coined as the most iconic CoD of all time. And considering its popularity in the community, it’s not a surprise that Infinity Ward will bring back the classic MW2 maps in Modern Warfare 2. Reputed leaker TheGhostofHope has confirmed this as his trustworthy source has revealed that classic maps will return in MW2.

Classic MW2 Maps making a Return
TheGhostofHope tweeted that his trustworthy source revealed the classic MW2 maps are returning to Modern Warfare 2. However, they won’t likely be available in the first year of the game’s lifecycle. Instead, it will probably be added to the game as a part of the Year 2 overhaul.
The return of these classic maps is good news for the community and the game. Furthermore, the maps Terminal, Rust, Highrise, Quarry, and Favela have all been on the community wishlist since MW (2019)’s launch.
Although the return of these maps is a piece of good news, the majority of the community wants that these maps remain untouched. However, most classic maps got heavily remastered and retouched in recent years, making the map lose its true essence.
