Rammus will be receiving some substantial nerfs in League of Legends patch 13.21.

While our lovable armadillo, Rammus, did not get any substantial changes this season, he rose to popularity due to the overall meta in both solo queue and pro matches.

Firstly, after the mid-season item rework, ADC became the meta role. And Rammus happened to be the champion who countered them often. Not only that but with the new tank items released this season, he was stronger than before. Moreover, for most of this season, champions like Kha’Zix, Kindred, Rengar, Bel’Veth, and Sejuani were the meta jungle picks. And Rammus was also their main counter.

Due to these situations, Rammus got picked often in both solo queue and pro-play. Furthermore, he is currently the second-best jungler in terms of win rate, as his win rate is 53.65%.

Recently, the lead designer of League of Legends revealed all the changes coming to the game on patch 13.21. In there, he showed that Rammus would be receiving some nerfs. Here are all the changes.

League of Legends Patch 13.21: Rammus Nerfs

  • Q – Powerball:
    • Damage: 100/125/150/175/200 (+ 100% AP) >>> 80/110/140/170/200 (+ 100% AP).
  • W – Defensive Ball Curl:
    • Bonus Armor: 35 (+ 40/50/60/70/80% Total Armor) >>> 30 (+ 40/50/60/70/80% Total Armor)
    • Bonus Magic Resistance: 35 (+ 40/50/60/70/80% Total MR) >>> 30 (+ 40/50/60/70/80% Total MR)

While being a tank, Rammus can deal some massive damage, especially during the early game. Moreover, he can tank almost every hit that players throw at him during that stage. So Riot wants to nerf that early-game strength.

Firstly, the early game Q damage is going down by a lot. And it will stay low till the player maxs out the ability. In that case, the damage will be the same as it was before.

As for W nerfs, Riot reduced both the flat value of the armor and magic resist. This will mainly impact the early game, as he won’t be tanking as hard as before.

Overall, while these nerfs will impact the early game, he will be the same as he is right now by the time he builds some items. So he will still remain one of the best champions to counter with.

Release Date

These Rammus nerfs are hitting live servers on patch 13.21, scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
