The Stage 2 closed qualifiers of Rainbow Six South Asia Nationals is set to kick off tomorrow, July 16th, with the eight qualified teams.

Teams from the South Asian region will once again get the opportunity to make their mark in the competitive Rainbow Six esports scene and reach the worldwide stages.

The open qualifiers for Stage 2 began on June 26 and only the top 2 teams from these open quals booked their spot in the closed qualifiers. After the three open qualifiers concluded, we had our 8 confirmed teams for the SA Nationals closed qualifiers.

MercenarieZ and KIRA E-Sports were invited by Ubisoft to the Closed Qualifier after their performance in Stage 1. The remaining six teams include ex-uG roster of Monkey Hunters, Valhalla eSports, Extraordinaire Esports, Gamer’s Syndicate, Red ViperZ, and ClickBait.

These eight teams will compete against each other tomorrow for a total prize pool of USD $6,000. Furthermore, the teams will also fight for a spot in the APAC Playoffs, where SI points and chance to play in the August Major can be earned.

The hat-trick SA Nationals Champions MercenarieZ will once again look to defend their throne, while KIRA E-Sports will be looking forward to snatch away the victory from them. The ex-uG roster, who failed to qualify the last stage, will also want to complete their redemption by climbing to the top once again. However, the South Asian R6 scene can be quite unpredictable, so any team might come out on top of this tournament.

Like before the closed qualifiers will be played in a double-elimination BO3 format, where the top two teams will advance to the APAC Playoffs.

The tournament might be streamed by community streamers here, so make sure to tune in tomorrow at 11:30 AM Indian time.
