Rainbow Six Extraction’s highly anticipated Buddy Pass system has finally gone live today, January 27th.
Ubisoft announced a Buddy Pass system for Extraction that would allow players to invite two of their friends from any platform to play for free for two weeks. However, to ensure a smooth release, Ubisoft decided to hold off the Buddy Pass system, leaving fans disappointed.
But now, the feature has been made available to all owners of the game, even for Game Pass users. Each owner will get two Buddy Pass tokens, and here’s how you can use them to play with your desired friends.
How to send Buddy Pass Tokens?
To invite your friends:
- Open the Squad menu.
- Choose your Friends list and invite a friend to join your squad.
- Select the name of the friend you have invited.
- Pick Send Buddy Pass Token.
How to get trial version of Rainbow Six Extraction?
In order to access their trial of the game, your friend will need to have the Trial Version of Rainbow Six Extraction downloaded and activated on their chosen platform. For PC Ubisoft Connect users, check under the free games section for the trial version, and then download it. Console users can also find the trial version under free games or manually search for it.
The Trial Version of Rainbow Six Extraction gives any player the opportunity to try the game for up to 2 hours for free. While the game is running, a 2-hour timer will deplete.
The Trial Version can also be used to join the squad of a friend who invited you with a Buddy Pass token, allowing for 14 additional days of gameplay. When you play with your friend using the Buddy Pass, the 2-hour timer for the Trial is paused. The 2-hour timer will resume anytime you play without your friend.
Players of the Trial Version will have access to the full game, with the exception of post-launch content, Maelstrom Protocol Mode, and the in-game store. To access these, your friends will need to upgrade to the full version of the game.
While in a squad together, the friends you invite through the Buddy Pass will have access to any content you have previously unlocked in the full game. If your friend decides to purchase Rainbow Six Extraction following their trial, any progression will be saved and carried over to the full game, including Trophies and Achievements!
Ubisoft has already reported that Rainbow Six Extraction 3 million player count in its first week, and this number will see a sizable boost with the introduction of the Buddy Pass system.
