Rainbow Six Siege professional commentator Michael “KiXSTaR” Stockley has passed away at age 24, according to a statement from his family.

KiXSTaR was one of the most popular members of the Rainbow Six Siege competitive community. He started Siege as a pro-player back in 2016 with Team Orbit, and then shifted away to a casting role later that year.

“On Monday, October 11 Michael “KiXSTaR” Stockley passed away unexpectedly,” the family’s statement reads. “He had so much planned for the future, and he was looking forward to working with so many of you. Michael worked hard to lift up the R6 Siege community, and in turn so many of you lifted him up as well. We are grateful for the love and support that we have experienced from so many of you.”

In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family ask that interested parties send a donation to a local food bank in Michael’s name. Ubisoft has also postponed the North American League playday in honour of KixStar, as he was a part of the talent team.

Multiple Rainbow Six Siege pro-players and content creators have expressed their condolences and gratitude towards Michael. The Rainbow 6 community will never forget KiXSTaR’s hard work and passion for this game.
