NICKMERCS has finally talked about how Infinity Ward has overcomplicated Warzone 2.0 and must return to its basics to improve.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 aimed to be a revamped BR experience, borrowing core elements from its predecessor. However, in their effort to improve the Warzone experience, Infinity Ward seems to have made the wrong moves.

While Warzone 2.0 remains the same BR as Warzone 1, it failed to deliver its full potential. Unnecessary changes like the 2v2 Gulag with the Jailer, new loadout system, no customizable perks, slow movement, and much more hinder the game’s growth.

Warzone 2.0’s performance has gone down a lot, which has led to a big drop in the number of players. However, Infinity Ward has quickly identified the issues and worked on them. In a recent video, Warzone content creator NICKMERCS reacted to Infinity Ward’s community update blog and the upcoming changes.

Warzone 2.0 is Overcomplicated

In a recent video, NICKMERCS talked about the Season 2 community update and shared his take on the current situation in Warzone and Call of Duty. According to him, everything in the game is too complicated, and he would love to see the game return to its roots.

Nick started with the gunsmith feature in-game, “My opinion on this whole game is they are going in a direction where it’s overcomplicated, and it doesn’t need to be. I really do miss the days when you could add four attachments or three attachments.”

He reiterated, “In fact, I miss the days when it was just a couple of attachments. You didn’t even need an attachment. It was just an M16, that’s an M4, or that’s a Scar.” Furthermore, he explained how the new gunsmith is not as efficient as the basic one MW (2019) had introduced.

Nick shared a possible solution to counter the tedious gunsmithing feature, “There are like eight different attachments, every attachment is either tuned up or tuned down, tuned left or tuned right, I think it’s too much. I think you go away with that, go backward, go back to the basics. Don’t overcomplicate it, make it easy for people to pick up and play. It doesn’t need to be this crazy system.”

Warzone 2.0 has been a massive success, but players have not been happy with the game’s overcomplicated gunsmith features and the other issues that remain. The only way Warzone 2.0 can go back to a satisfactory condition is by reverting to the old ways of Warzone 1 or, to be precise, the basics.
