Riot has revealed the new Neeko Rework details in the latest PBE patch in 2023.
There has been a whole host of massive changes that have popped up in League of Legends this season. The preseason itself introduced a number of reworks like the Jax rework, which has been prominent since release. Also, there has been the dominant new Aurelion Sol and the controversial Yuumi rework.
This shows Riot’s dedication to improving champions that have not performed well or do not have the identity they want those specific characters to embody. Thus, future reworks of Ivern and Rell should follow that same pattern as well.
This brings us to the upcoming Neeko Rework. We knew a little bit about the rework of her passive, as she will be able to transform into a whole host of stuff on the map. According to Riot Reav3 a while back, the Neeko rework is the next one coming.
This has come true as the new Neeko rework has been added to the PBE. Here are all the details on the upcoming rework.

Neeko Rework 2023
As far as we knew, the passive was being changed to line up to being more about the Trickster playstyle of hiding and sneaking up on enemies. Her other abilities were also updated to do more monster damage and some balance changes on the damage. Riot Phlox shared all of this, and here all the changes are.
Neeko Passive – Inherent Glamour
Her core passive remains as she can disguise herself. However, it has been expanded to include any non-epic monsters, plants, minions, etc. Also, the disguise is made stronger as it only breaks when hit by an immobilizing ability or she uses a damage spell. She can channel her Ultimate Pop Blossom through her disguise based on ability tooltips revealed.
- When Neeko is near a non-epic monster, minion, trap, ward, or plan for two seconds, she stores their Sho’ma. Neeko can click on her bar to become that unit. Clicking on Neeko’s face with return her back to normal. A little “x” will be there to clear the bar to allow another disguise to fill up the bar. Only one unit can be stored at a time.
- Disguise no longer breaks on taking damage. Only breaks when the disguised self dies or when Neeko is crowd controlled.
- Neeko no longer gets more Attack Speed or Movement Speed from disguised target if their stats are higher than hers.
- Cooldown is fixed to 6 seconds.
Q – Blooming Burst
The ability largely remains the same except for some damage numbers. Damage to monsters is added. Also, the secondary and tertiary burst deals more damage based on AP scaling and lower base damage stats.
- Secondary/Tertiary Pop Damage: 40/65/90/115/140 + 20% AP >>> 35/60/85/110/135 + 25% AP.
- Explosions now deal 30/40/50/60/70 bonus damage to monsters.
W – Shapesplitter
Clone can now do more, such as be commanded to move to a certain location or mimic interactions. Also, Empowered attacks do bonus damage to monsters.
- After casting, Neeko can reactivate to send the clone to a new location.
- Clone now plays animations and sounds from abilites, Joke, Taunt, Recall, Laugh, and survives until that duration.
- Empowered Attack deal 50 bonus damage to monsters.
E – Tangle Barbs
Just a damage number change to add more through AP but less through the base numbers.
- Damage: 80/115/150/185/220 + 60% AP >>> 70/105/140/175/210 + 65% AP.
R – Pop Blossom
The ultimate does a lot more now as there is more crowd control on the ability now. R can also be cast during a disguise as well. There is a knock up now, along with the stun. However, the cooldown is increased, and the damage is decreased.
- After channel, Neeko jumps into the air, suspending all nearby enemies.
- After 0.6 seconds, Neeko crashes down to the ground with all the suspended enemies, dealing damage and stunning them for 1.25 seconds.
- No longer shields
- Damage: 200/425/650 (+130% AP) >>> 150/350/550 (+100% AP).
- Cooldown: 90 seconds >>> 120/105/90 seconds.
Release Date
The Neeko rework is set to release in Patch 13.9, which will be on May 3, 2023.
