Riot has confirmed that more new game modes will be available and more frequently, in League of Legends 2024.
When it comes to game modes, League of Legends has various RGM (Rotating Game modes), which are temporary in nature. This is in contrast with Summoner’s Rift and Aram, both permanently available to the client.
Rotating game modes include URF (Ultra Rapid Fire), ARURF (All Random URF, in ARAM map), Nexus Blitz, etc. These modes rotate between each other and take turns being added to the game client.
However, it doesn’t mean that there will always be a RGM in the game. It depends on many factors, such as balancing between other important projects, balancing, etc. In 2023, we have seen fewer arrivals of these game modes. Nexus Blitz, URF, ARURF – they all came, but the downtime far exceeded its presence.
This year, Riot has big plans with new game modes. In fact, they will be coming up with a new ‘relaxing with teammates’ type of mode as well. Not to mention, Arena is getting a massive update too in its next return, along with other big updates.

More Frequent Game Modes in League of Legends 2024
Riot Cadmus has stated that, unlike in 2023, you can expect to see more game modes coming to Lol more frequently. Even though they won’t be there every patch, but their presence in the client will be much more noticeable.
About the game modes themselves, the first one is going to be URF, expected to be released with the Lunar New Year, which is February 10, 2024.
Other than that, a brand new game mode where you can relax with your friends in a non-competitive setting is also on its way this year.
Arena will also be here soon with 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2 and new augments and more champion diversity.
Overall, this is going to be a great year for the people who like to do something new in the game.
