Modern Warfare 3 players are pleading with Sledgehammer Games to balance guns at release after two weeks of the beta test phase.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 introduces a revamped multiplayer game mode inspired by Modern Warfare (2019). It will be the first game to port forward weapons from its direct prequel, MW2.
Aside from the guns from MW2, Modern Warfare 3 also features an original weapon pool. A few weapons from the weapon pool were available in the beta. Players used these guns hands-on to find out their performance levels. A few MW3 players took to Reddit to discuss which guns needed balancing at launch.

Players Plead the Devs to Balance Guns at Launch
In a recent thread in the Modern Warfare 3 subreddit, user FinanceEfficient7269 requested the developer balance the guns at launch.
The original poster discussed the problem with shotguns and how they remain overpowered, as well as the Longbow Sniper Rifle, which has a large magazine and abysmal quick-spotting potential. Moreover, the original poster discussed how some weapons have unreasonable TTK and how the MW2 weapons might behave in the game. The user demands that the developers strike a balance with the guns at launch to create an equal playing field.
In the comment section, user RunsWithBeef1 shared how the weapons might not get balanced until the Season 1 patch, which will arrive at the end of November, a month after the game’s initial release date. The unbalanced weapon state is an obvious problem, considering the large number of weapon pools at hand.
Another user, Arhiman666, shared his hard take, where they stated that the MW3 weapon pool should have a balance to avoid the one-gun meta-problem. As for the MW2 guns, they suggested that the developers tweak them so they remain at level with the current guns at launch.
Weapon balancing has been a huge problem since Modern Warfare (2019) and Warzone 1’s launch. The unbalanced state of weapons created a one-gun meta issue with the launch and integration of each CoD title.
