Raids is a new game mode coming to Modern Warfare 2 at launch. Here’s everything we know about it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will bombard players with a truckload of content. Infinity Ward is introducing new game modes that are new to the franchise. One such game mode was mentioned in the CoD Next event.
The new game mode that is being added to MW2 is Raids. According to a reputed industry insider, Tom Henderson Raids will be a three-person game mode containing puzzles and combat. The game mode is similar to spec ops but with multiplayer aspects and the added puzzle aspect.

Raids: How it Works
Raids will feature a three-person team where the trio will be put through puzzles as they use their combat power to move through them. But from what the Call of Duty blog suggests, the game mode will be added to MW2 after Warzone 2 and DMZ are released.
Furthermore, intel drops suggest that the game mode will feature MW2’s new and improved AI. The AI is set to be harder than ever and will use tactics to counter player equipment and ambushes.
Gameplay Details
Tom Henderson quotes, “It’s understood that the first Raid coming to Modern Warfare 2 will have at least two puzzles involved; one focused on numbers and the other on a water maze.” He further explains how AI will play the most significant factor in this game mode and how it will affect the gameplay.
Furthermore, he provided details on the first mission of Raid. It will see players infiltrate an aquatic base, which will shed light on MW2’s marine combat and improved water mechanics. The mission will feature extensive underwater gameplay making it challenging for players to complete. Moreover, Raids will feature their own unique maps that were built from the ground map, providing players with a new playing ground.
