Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the most anticipated game of 2022. Here’s everything you can get by preordering the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the direct sequel to MW (2019). Infinity Ward is developing the game in collaboration with Treyarch, Raven Software, Beenox, and many more studios. The game is labeled as the most advanced CoD title to this date.
Like every CoD title, the game has been available for preorder since its worldwide reveal in July. Players who preorder the game can obtain many bonuses in-game and early access ahead of the worldwide release.
MW2 Editions & Pre-Order Bonuses
Modern Warfare 2 is available in two editions this year: Standard Edition and Vault Edition. Activision has replaced Gold and Ultimate Editions with the new Vault Edition. Here are the contents available in Standard and Vault Editions:

MW2 Beta Dates
PlayStation Exclusive Beta
- Early Access: September 16-17
- Open Beta: September 18-20
The first beta weekend is exclusive to PS4 and PS5 users. It will be available from Friday, September 16, starting at 10 AM PT, to Tuesday, September 20. PlayStation users can access the beta without a PS Plus subscription.
Crossplay Beta (PC + XBOX)
- Early Access: September 22-23
- Open Beta: September 23-26
- PS Open Beta: September 22-26 (Second Weekend)
The second beta weekend is open for all platforms. It will be available from Thursday, September 22, starting at 10 AM PT, to Monday, September 26. PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players can play together during this period without difficulties.
Red Team 141 Operator Pack
Red Team 141 introduces Price, Farah, Ghost, and Soap in Red Ghost attire. The pack will be available in-game with Vault Editions. It is still unclear whether the pack will be available for purchase later.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available for preorder on Steam, Battle.net, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store. Players who preorder the game will be able to avail the preorder bonuses and packs at launch.
