Riven is getting some much-needed buffs in the upcoming patch.

Riven as a champion has been very consistent for the past couple of years. She has neither been too overpowered nor too broken, it’s always in between. However, with Patch 14.19 changes, Riven has lost quite a bit of damage from her items.

In Patch 14.19 Riot nerfed almost every Legendary item in the game. But the Bruiser items seem to be hit hard the most. Items like Eclipse, Black Cleaver, Death Dance, and Sundered Sky, which Riven builds, all have their Attack Damage nerfed. This resulted in her win rate going down, even in experienced hands.

Thus for the upcoming patch, Riot is buffing Riven. They are buffing her main damage ability Q – Broken Wings. The ability will have more base damage and will have better scaling if you build her properly.

Patch 14.20 Riven Buffs

Here are all the Riven changes coming in the upcoming patch,

Q – Broken Wings

  • Damage: 15/35/55/75/95 (+50/55/60/65/70% total AD) >>> 45/75/105/135/165 (+65/70/75/80/85% bonus AD)

Q – Broken Wings base damage is going up significantly. It is going from 95 damage to 165 damage at max rank. This means her level 1-9 should be much better compared to now. Additionally, the scaling is being changed from total AD to bonus AD.

This means she will now have better scaling if you build full AD. Since she builds fewer defensive items compared to most bruisers, it shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Overall, sites a massive buff to her early game, and her late-game power should be mostly similar to pre-14.19.

Release Date

The Riven Buffs are coming to the game on Patch 14.20, which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
