LoL Ultimate Spellbook November 2021: Dates, New Changes, and More

Ultimate Spellbook is officially returning on League of Legends 2022 preseason with a couple of new changes.

First introduced earlier this year, Ultimate Spellbook is a Featured game mode in League of Legends. In Ultimate Spellbook, players get to choose one of three ultimates that get randomly selected.

According to Riot, the first edition was a great success. “The total amount of time you spent in Ultimate Spellbook stayed high throughout the event,” League of Legends developer Jessica Nam said on the 2022 Preseason video.

Now, League of Legends’ Lead Game Designer for Modes, Reina Sweet, has confirmed that Ultimate Spellbook is making a return to be the next rotating game mode in the 2022 preseason.

Ultimate Spellbook November 2021 Dates

Ultimate Spellbook is currently available on the PBE. And the game mode will be officially re-enabled on League of Legends patch 11.23, November 18, 2021.

Ultimate Spellbook will remain available in patch 11.24 as well, and it will be officially gone on January 10, 2022, at 11:59 PM PT.

Riot is adding multiple new things for the November edition, including fifteen new champions’ ultimate, new Auto-Smite, new dragon & map changes.

Auto-Smite

For this new edition, Riot has added a new summoner spell, “Auto-Smite,” for the Junglers. And it is a must-take summoner spell for all the jungles. Auto-Smite will get replaced by the selected champion Ultimate, and it will gain a buff when attacking an epic monster, scuttles, or allied buff monster. Similar to regular Smite, Auto-Smite also upgrades to a new Jungle item, “Obsidian Edge.”

Dragon and Map Changes

There will be no more Ruined map and Ruined Dragon. Instead, it will now have the regular Summoner’s Rift map where the final elemental dragon will always be the Chemtech or Hextech Dragons.
