Riot is bringing back the Lethal Tempo rune keystone with a huge rework. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Since its inception, runes have been a very important part of League of Legends. It fundamentally changes how your champion works.

From the release of Rune Reforged, one keystone was very popular among many players. That keystone was Lethal Tempo. Lethal Tempo was a rune that increased a player’s attack speed drastically since the early game. This rune was very much mandatory for many champions who relied on attack speed.

However, as many champions relied on this rune, it was very unhealthy for the game. Due to this, Riot removed this rune and predator in the season 14 mid-season update. The removal of this rune was very necessary as it was one of the most popular keystones in the game.

With that said Riot not too long ago revealed that this rune would be coming back. And recently, this new Lethal Tempo was added to PBE. Let’s discuss this reworked Lethal Tempo.

  • Lethal Tempo
    • Attacking an enemy champion grants you [5% Melee || 4% Ranged] Attack Speed for 6 seconds, up to 6. At max stacks, attacks also deal [9-30 Melee || 6-24 Ranged] bonus adaptive damage, increased by 1% per 15 bonus attack speed.

For context, the best thing about the previous keystone was that it had no attack speed cap. So theoretically, you could have infinite attack speed.

Now there is a cap and at the max attack speed, it deals bonus adaptive damage which you can scale using items. So now, this rune is more of a scaling rune rather than a must-have early rune. This change overall makes this keystone more healthier.

Release Date

Currently, these changes are out in patch 14.19 PBE. Which will officially be released on the live server on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
