Riot has revealed the first skin for Smolder in League of Legends, Heavenscale Smolder.
At the end of last year, Riot released a champion roadmap. In that dev log, they unveiled some of the upcoming champions coming to League of Legends. One of them was a fire-breathing baby dragon ADC.
At the time, we didn’t know much about the champion. We only knew that he was part of royalty, was a baby dragon, and was small. Now, very recently, Riot has fully unveiled the champion, Smolder. Additionally, they showcased both his design and gameplay.
There was a slight controversy regarding Smolder’s design. His original face was a lot more human-like than reptile. But Riot understood their mistake, and they fixed his design within a couple of days. As for his gameplay, he plays like a typical marksman, yet it’s very simple. Additionally, he also has a stack system, which empowers his abilities.
With that said, with a new champion, Riot also releases a new skin for that said champion. And Smolder is no different. For Smolder, we are getting Heavenscale Smolder.
Heavenscale Smolder turns Smolder into a golden baby dragon. And blatantly speaking, it’s very bland. While the other Heavenscale skins look unique, Smolder, on the other hand, looks like a prestige version of himself. But since it’s his first skin, it is expected to have a similar quality. And for his first skin, it’s not bad, really, as the animations look spectacular. Additionally, the VFX also looks amazing as well. But with that, we can expect the upcoming Smolder skins to be even better.

Release Date
All the Heavenscale skins, including Smolder’s, will hit live servers on Patch 14.2. Furthermore, it is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
