Riot just teased a new Drakin who might be the upcoming champion.

A couple of days ago Riot released a new client-based minigame called “The Demon’s Hand”. It’s a fun game that’s a mix of some League of Legends elements and the popular card game Balatro.

Apart from its fun gameplay the game also has some lore implications. It gives us some insight into League’s newest epic monster Atakhan and why LeBlanc has imprisoned him.

After you beat the game, it shows a comic panel of Leblanc And Vladimir conversing with Atakhan. In it, she asks Atakhan where the Darkin weapon is located, implicating the existence of a new Darkin.

For anyone who doesn’t know what a Darkin weapon is, it is a sentient weapon that houses a Darkin, a corrupted ascended. Think Kayn’s Scythe or Aatrox’s Sword, these are all Darkin weapons.

With the release of Mel a couple of months earlier, it’s almost time for another champion to be released and from the looks of it, the comic panel seems to be Riot’s way of teasing the upcoming champion.

As for what kind of Darkn we are going to get, we do not know yet and will have to wait for Riot to officially reveal it. But it would be cool if Riot would bring one of the Darkins from Legends of Runeterra.
