A brand new 5v5 game mode is coming to League of Legends, and it’s called Brawl.
League of Legends 2025 Season 2 has arrived, and with it comes a lot more new content. For starters, we are getting a brand new event called Spirit Blossom Beyond. With the event comes the much-awaited Spirit Blossom Skins.
Riot has already announced seven brand new skins, and more are arriving later during the event. In addition, we will be getting a brand new champion called Yunara. She will be a Marksmen champion and is heavily tied to the spirit blossom theme.
Finally, Riot will be adding a brand new game mode called Brawl, along with the Spirit Blossom event. Similar to game modes like Arena, Brawl will be a 5v5 mode with much more emphasis on casual play.

New 5v5 Gamemode Brawl
With the introduction out of the way, let’s talk about how Brawl works.
Brawl takes place in the legendary Yordle city called Bandle City. This is where your favorite Yordle, “Teemo” comes from. There are two sides in Bandle City, and each side of the city has a portal called the Bandle Portal. Each side houses a single team, and each begins with 250 health. The goal of the game mode is to reduce the opponent’s health to 0.
There are a few ways to reduce your opponent’s health. The first and simplest way to reduce the opponent team’s health is to get takedowns. Each takedown reduces the opponent team’s health by 5. Takedown on enemy minions also reduced their team’s health by 1. The more you kill their minions, the faster their health goes down.
The final way to reduce your opponent’s health is to escort your minions to the opponent’s Bandle portal. Each minion escorted to the portal reduces your opponent’s health by 1.
Now let’s talk about the lane assignments. Well, there are no traditional lane assignments per se, but there are camps stationed on each side of the lane. Players can take down these camps to gain gold, exp, and powerful buffs.
As for when players can expect to play Brawl, Riot has announced that it will be arriving in League of Legends on Patch 25.10, which is scheduled for May 14, 2025.
