League of Legends’ Battle Pass system is apparently getting an overhaul.
The Battle Pass system has been a big part of the gaming landscape for the past couple of years. Almost every online game has its own version of Battle Pass, and unfortunately, some offline games implement this feature, too. All in all, it’s a decent monetization option that offers players cosmetics and gives them more incentives to play the game.
That said, like most online titles League of Legends also has a Battle Pass system. However, compared to other games like Fortnite, which has an extensive Battle Pass, League’s Battle Pass system is barebones at best.
League’s free Battle Pass has some Emotes, Icons, Tokens, and some other stuff for its rewards. Also, the paid version isn’t better either, it has all the rewards of the free one with extra Tokens and Skin Shards sprinkled in. Overall, it’s pretty disappointing.
However, with 2025 Riot is looking to massively improve the Battle Pass system and there have been some leaks regarding it.

Updated Seasonal Battle Pass
Recently, the YouTuber SkinSpotlights found some files regarding the new Battle Pass system in the PBE files. This suggests Riot is planning on revamping the system.
Many are speculating that there will be a Battle Pass for each Split/Season starting in 2025. There’s also a chance that the pass will be similar to the Hall of Legends pass which came a few months ago. Although, the Hall of Legends pass isn’t might not be the ideal Battle Pass, it’s still much better than the current system that League has.
Other than that not much information about the new pass has been revealed, but it seems like we won’t have to wait much longer.
