League of Legends Patch 25.16 Notes: New Changes, Release Date, and More

Patch 25.16 notes have arrived, and here’s every change arriving in this patch.

The League of Legends meta has been relatively stable over the past few months. Aside from a few champion reworks and adjustments, there haven’t been any significant shifts in gameplay. As a result, many players, especially longtime veterans, expressed their dissatisfaction with the game’s current direction.

In response, Riot appears to be making some massive changes to spice up the meta. In this patch, Riot is making some huge changes to the game, especially the jungle pool. Champions like Nautilus, Sylas, Qiyana, Brand, and other champions are receiving buffs specifically for the Jungle. They are also nerfing the meta champions, such as Jarvan IV, Lulu, Nocturne, and Rell, so other champions can shine. In addition to these changes, we have some adjustments to Viego, Varus, Warwick, and others.

When Will Patch 25.16 Be Released?

League of Legends Patch 25.16 is expected to be released on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

Release Time and Server Maintenance:

  • North America: 3:00 AM PT
  • Europe West: 5:00 UK time
  • Europe Nordic & East: 3:00 CET

Patch 25.16 Champion Changes

Here are all the champion changes arriving in this patch.

Champion Buffs

Quite a number of champions are being buffed in this patch.

Brand

Passive – Blaze

  • Ablaze monster damage increased to 260% from 240%.

Q – Sear

  • Stun duration increased to 1.75 seconds from 1.5.

R – Pyroclasm

  • Cooldown reduced to 100 / 90 / 80 seconds from 110 / 100 / 90.

Gnar

Q – Boomerang Throw

  • Cooldown reduced to 16 / 14.5 / 13 / 11.5 / 10 seconds from 20 / 17.5 / 15 / 12.5 / 10

Illaoi

Passive – Prophet of an Elder God

  • Tentacle AD ratio increased to 110% AD from 105% AD.
  • Cooldown reduced to 18 – 7 (based on level) seconds from 20 – 7.25 (based on level).

Kalista

Base Stats

  • Attack damage growth increased to 4.5 from 4.

E – Rend

  • First spear AP ratio increased to 65% AP from 20% AP.
  • Subsequent spear AP ratio increased to 50% AP from 20% AP.

Master Yi

Q – Alpha Strike

  • Can now proc Kraken Slayer and Terminus.

Morgana

W – Tormented Shadow

  • Minimum base damage per tick increased to 7 / 14 / 21 / 28 / 35 from 6 / 11.5 / 17 / 22.5 / 28.
  • Minimum AP ratio per tick increased to 10% AP from 8.5% AP.

Nautilus

E – Riptide

  • Monster damage multiplier reduced to 100% from 150%.
  • New Effect: First hit against monsters now deals 150 / 175 / 200 / 225 / 250 (+ 50% AP) bonus magic damage.

Qiyana

Q – Edge of Ixtal

  • Base damage increased to 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 from 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180.

W – Terrashape

  • Bonus attack speed increased to 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% from 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25%.

Rek’Sai

Base Stats

  • Base attack damage increased to 62 from 58.

Singed

Q – Poison Trail

  • Bug Fix: The timing of damage by casters on the red side will now match the timing of damage by casters on the blue side.
  • Bug Fix: Re-application check cadence increased to once every 0.25 seconds from once every 0.5 seconds.
    • Bug Fix: There is also no longer an up-to 0.25-second delay on the re-application check (it is no longer fuzzy).
    • Both of these changes together amend cases where, depending on buff update ticks, the caster could lose out on two to three further instances of damage on any enemy.
  • Debuff duration increased to 2.2 seconds from 2.1.
    • Now has an internal counter to apply 8 instances of damage total at most, including the final application instance, as a safety mechanism.

Sion

Passive – Glory in Death

  • Base health cost per tick reduced to 2 – 19 (based on level) from 2.3 – 24.4 (based on level).

E – Roar of the Slayer

  • Armor reduction increased to 25% from 20%.

R – Unstoppable Onslaught

  • Minimum bonus AD ratio increased to 60% bonus AD from 40%.
  • Maximum bonus AD ratio increased to 120% bonus AD from 80%.

Sylas

Passive – Petricite Burst

  • New Effect: Now deals 150% damage to monsters.

Zyra

E – Grasping Roots

  • Cooldown reduced to 11 seconds from 12.

R – Stranglethorns

  • Base damage increased to 200 / 300 / 400 from 180 / 265 / 350.

Champion Nerfs

Jarvan IV, Lulu, Nocturne, Rell, and other meta staples are getting nerfed in this patch.

Base Stats

  • Armor growth reduced to 4.6 from 5.2.

Lulu

E – Help, Pix!

  • Base shield reduced to 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 from 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240.
  • Shield AP ratio reduced to 50% AP from 55% AP.
  • Base damage reduced to 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 from 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240.
  • Cooldown increased to 10 / 9.5 / 9 / 8.5 / 8 seconds from 8 at all ranks.

Nocturne

Base Stats

Armor growth reduced to 4.2 from 4.7.

Q – Duskbringer

  • Bonus attack damage reduced to 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 from 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60.

Rell

W – Ferromancy: Crash Down

  • Shield health ratio reduced to 11% maximum health from 13%.

Shaco

Q – Backstab

  • Bonus AD ratio reduced to 25% bonus AD from 30%.

Deceive

  • Bonus AD ratio reduced to 60% bonus AD from 65%.
  • Cooldown increased to 13 / 12.5 / 12 / 11.5 / 11 seconds from 12 / 11.5 / 11 / 10.5 / 10.

Trundle

W – Frozen Domain

  • Bonus attack speed reduced to 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90% from 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110%.
  • Cooldown increased to 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 seconds from 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12.

Xin Zhao

Base Stats

  • Base health reduced to 620 from 640.

Q – Three Talon Strike

  • Base damage per hit reduced to 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 from 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80.
  • Total base damage reduced to 45 / 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 from 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240.

Yuumi

Q – Prowling Projectile

  • Empowered base damage reduced to 80 / 148.75 / 217.5 / 286.25 / 355 from 80 / 155 / 230 / 305 / 380.

W – You and Me!

  • Heal and shield power reduced to 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8% from 5 / 7.5 / 10 / 12.5 / 15%.
  • Best Friend on-hit base healing reduced to 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 from 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 11.
  • Best Friend on-hit healing AP ratio reduced to 3% of Yuumi’s AP from 4%.

Champion Adjustments

Viego, Varus, Warwick, and others are getting some much-needed adjustments.

Mordekaiser

Q – Obliterate

  • New Effect: Damage now scales with 120% bonus AD, increased against isolated targets.

Rumble

Q – Flamespitter

  • AP ratio per tick reduced to 8.333% AP from 9.167% AP.
  • Target health ratio per tick reduced to 0.5 / 0.542 / 0.583 / 0.625 / 0.667% of the target’s maximum health from 0.5 / 0.567 / 0.633 / 0.7 / 0.767%.
  • Bug Fix: The timing of damage by casters on the red side will now match the timing of damage by casters on the blue side.
  • New Effect: Each hit’s debuff now also applies a burn for 0.5 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and not stacking with the flame if already debuffed.
  • Debuff now correctly affects enemies for the first time at the same time they are hit.

R – The Equalizer

  • Bug Fix: The timing of damage by casters on the red side will now match the timing of damage by casters on the blue side.
  • Debuff now correctly affects enemies for the first time at the same time they enter a rocket zone.
  • Bug Fix: Rocket zones no longer start affecting enemies at up to a 0.25-second delay (their debuff application is no longer fuzzy).
  • Debuff linger cadence increased to once every 0.25 seconds from once every 0.5 seconds.

Varus

Q – Piercing Arrow

  • Minimum base damage reduced to 53.33 / 100 / 146.67 / 193.33 / 240 from 60 / 106.67 / 153.33 / 200 / 246.67
  • Maximum base damage reduced to 80 / 150 / 220 / 290 / 360 from 90 / 160 / 230 / 300 / 370.

W – Blighted Quiver

  • On-hit base damage increased to 8 / 15.5 / 23 / 30.5 / 38 from 8 / 13.5 / 19 / 24.5 / 30.

E – Hail of Arrows

  • Base damage reduced to 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 from 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220.
  • Bonus AD ratio reduced to 90% bonus AD from 100%.

Viego

Q – Blade of the Ruined King

  • Base damage increased to 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 from 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75.
  • Critical strike chance ratio reduced to 0% – 75% (based on critical strike chance) from 0% – 100%.
  • Removed: Active no longer deals 15 bonus physical damage to monsters.
  • Healing against minions increased to 100% from 50%.
  • Healing against champions increased to 150% from 135%.

Warwick

Base Stats

  • Base attack damage increased to 65 from 60.

Passive – Eternal Hunger

  • On-hit base damage reduced to 6 – 46 (based on level) from 12 – 46 (based on level).

Patch 25.16 System Changes

Here are all the system changes arriving in this patch.

System Buffs

Experimental Hexplate is receiving a much-needed buff.

Experimental Hexplate

  • Overdrive attack speed increased to 50% from 30%.
  • Overdrive movement speed increased to 20% from 15%.

System Adjustments

Baron Nashor is getting some adjustments.

Baron Nashor

  • Base health increased to 11800 from 11500.
  • Health per minute increased to 190 from 180.
  • Health regeneration per minute reduced to 0 from 1.875.

Patch 25.16 Skins

Patch 25.16 will arrive with three brand new skins. The three skins are Block Toy CorkiBowling League Lillia, and the 2025 Season 2 reward skin, Victorious Fiora.
