The honor rewards in League of Legends are lackluster for the time it takes to reach level 5. But it will change soon enough, according to Riot.

Reaching Honor level 5 rewards players with an honor five token. Players can redeem that token to earn Medieval Twitch, Grey Warwick, or chromas. Also, some keys and champion shards are rewarded along the way to level 5. However, the rewards are not that great for the time it takes to reach the max honor level.

Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick skins are exclusive but repurposed. Players used to get these skins by referring friends to join League of Legends. But after discontinuation of refer-a-friend, these skins are now rewarded for reaching honor level 5. What players wanted was completely new skins, exclusively for honor level 5.

But Riot is taking the right step and has confirmed that there will be more rewards for honor level 5. It is to make the behavioral system matter more.

Riot’s TimTamMonster announced a new Special Recall VFX for all the players who achieve level 5 by the end of the season in a dev post. The new VFX would be something similar to the challenger recall VFX that was awarded to challenger players. But that is not all.

“What else? Did I hear you ask? Riot would never dedicate a specific new skin just for Honor. Oh, wait… That’s exactly what we’re doing! We’re working hard on an exclusive skin just for players who reach Honor 5 as part of the End of Season rewards,” Riot TimTamMonster said.

An exclusive skin only for Honor will reward players for reaching honor level 5. So now players can look forwards to another special skin reward at the end of the season along with the skin for reaching gold rank or higher.

Along with the rewards, Riot plans to bring other changes as well to improve the behavioral system. First, they plan to add punishment to the champion select reports, as so far, they have been just monitoring the reports. Also, they are working on some projects to detect verbal abuse properly.
