League of Legends Clash Schedule (March 2023)

League of Legends Clash schedule for 2023 has been announced.

League of Legends has introduced a lot of interesting aspects of the game throughout its lifetime. The memorable system that players will remember was the initial release of the Random Game Mode system. That contained the popular Nexus Blitz, ARURF, URF, Ultimate Spellbook, etc. While that system has sort of teetered in terms of popularity, the new 2v2v2v2 game mode will certainly bring more focus to it.

Many behavioral systems were also introduced, and Season 13 saw ranked changes. Even in Patch 13.4, we are getting some ranked LP changes. All those balance updates are designed to keep League of Legends in tip-top shape while allowing players to compete.

Another system that really enabled competition was Clash.

To explain simply, Clash is a tournament consisting of a bracket of 8 or 16 teams of similar skill levels competing. You can enter clash using tickets and get more rewards with the more games you win.

Clash was initially introduced in May 2018 but was pulled due to technical issues. After several more beta tests, Clash was re-introduced in February 2020. Since then, we have had multiple clash tournaments per season, and it has gained quite a popularity. I mean, who doesn’t like rewards for just participating?

Season 13 Clash was delayed due to the social engineering attack on Riot this year. However, in the latest patch notes, Riot updated Clash returning in March 2023. Let’s talk about everything Clash and get everyone up to speed on how the system runs and all that.

What is Clash?

To go more in-depth on Clash, this is where we first start. As mentioned earlier, Clash is a tournament system that allows premade teams to participate in an 8 or 16-team bracket to earn rewards. There are rewards just for participating, and you get more rewards for every game you win. The brackets consist of a team of similar levels.

The games of Clash happen on either Saturday or Sunday or both. There will be a total of three games per team in an 8-team bracket, and winning all of them gives that team the trophy and prizes. All teams play three games regardless of losing in the first round, as more wins are always more rewards.

Teams can only participate in one Clash bracket per day, and you can participate on both Saturday and Sunday. All-in-all, this is like a tournament in which players create teams to participate.

LoL Clash Schedule 2023

So far, Riot has only revealed the schedule of the first Clash cups in 2023. Here is what we know so far.

Bilgewater Cup

The Bilgewater Cup will be taking place in March 2023. Here are the following registration times and schedules.

  • Week 1:
    • Registration: March 6th, 2023, at 11 am Local Time (different local times for each server).
    • Tournament Days: March 11th and 12th (4-7 pm Local Time, varies by region).
  • Week 2:
    • Registration: March 20th, 2023, at 11 am Local Time (different local times for each server).
    • Tournament Days: March 25th and 26th (4-7 pm Local time, varies by region).

Future Clash Cups

The future cups will be announced at a later time. However, Riot did mention that there will be a Clash every month, barring some unexpected circumstances. There will also be a future ARAM clash tournament.

How To Play Clash

For individual players, there are some requirements that are needed to be met. Here they are as follows:

  • Reached level 30
  • Completed placements in at least one Summoner’s Rift ranked queue (either Solo/Duo Queue or Flex)
  • Verified your League account by SMS (available in the Clash tab).

If you meet the conditions, you can choose to join or create a clash team. Also, every member will need a Clash ticket to participate. Basic Clash Tickets can be bought in the shop with 975 BE or 195 RP, while Premium Clash Tickets cost 975 RP.

How to Create a Team

Once you have completed the requirements and paid the ticket, you can create your own team. You will become the Captain of the team, and you can start adding members to the team on Monday and onwards until the weekend of games starts. The Captain will also pick the team name, logo, etc.

How The Format Works

Teams will be put into a bracket of 8 teams of similar skill levels. You can enter one bracket a day, and since there are two days of games, you can enter two brackets for every Clash week. Each team will play three games even if they lose the first round. Consolation games or otherwise, winning games increases your prize pool. After the bracket is resolved, players will receive rewards based on how they performed for the bracket.

Matchmaking Tiers

The tiers for the clash are divided from Tier IV to Tier 1. It is generally based on the overall ELO of the team as they are placed into different brackets. Tier 1 is the highest, while Tier IV is the lowest ELO. Your Tier determines who you play in your games.

Game Rules

The games work similarly to most custom Summoner’s Rift games, except for a few differences. The differences are as follows.

No Pause/Remake

There are no pauses or remakes in Clash. This is to ensure the entire bracket finishes up in Time.

Sudden Death

Clash will have a Sudden Death feature to speed up a game if it goes on for too long. After 60 minutes, towers become weaker and easier to take down. At 65 minutes, structures begin to take damage over Time, and at 70 minutes, one team will have won the game. This is a last resort and will not happen in most cases.

LoL Clash Tickets

You need either Basic or Premium Tickets to enter the clash. Basic Clash Tickets can be bought in the shop with 975 BE or 195 RP, while Premium Clash Tickets cost 975 RP. Rewards scale off the ticket used.

League of Legends Clash Rewards

Players get three types of rewards in Clash: Trophies, Victory Points (VP), and Orbs & Capsules.

Trophies

Trophies can be earned by winning a Clash tournament, and the highest-level trophy shows up at the nexus for all Summoner’s Rift games for two weeks after the tournament ends.

Victory Points & Banner Frames

Every Time players win, they earn 200 Victory Points, which can be used to unlock Banners. Banners are a type of reward that shows up on Summoner’s Rift and your profile.
