Santiago “DaveeyS” Ruiz has reportedly passed away at the age of 23 this Sunday—a piece of heartbreaking news for the VALORANT and Esports communities.
Santiago Ruiz, more commonly known as DaveeyS, has been a professional VALORANT player for KRÜ Esports. He was originally from Colombia and was born on September 2, 2000.
On September 4, 2023, KRÜ Esports disclosed the saddening news of DaveeyS’ death. The Argentine organization stated that the unfortunate incident occurred after DaveeS suffered a decompensation.

DaveeyS Turned 23 the Day Before his Death
According to Liquipedia’s information, DaveeyS passed away on September 3, 2023, just a day after his 23rd birthday. This may have been the most difficult part for the family and friends, as well as the team, to accept.
DaveeyS has been a key member of KRÜ Esports’ VALORANT team. Despite being a Sentinel main, he was KRÜ Esports’ second-best performer in VALORANT Champions 2023, demonstrating his dedication to the game and Esports.
The young pro player’s sudden death has understandably shocked the whole VALORANT and Esports community. To address this, KRÜ Esports showed its sincereness and support toward the family and friends in this hard time.
