Riot is finally buffing Infinity Edge on Patch 13.14
Infinity Edge is probably one of the most well-known in League of Legends. It’s a Marksmen item that provides a ton of Attack Damage, Critical Chance, and Critical Damage. The item used to be a staple item on all Crit Marksmen, but it is not the case now.
A few months ago, Riot released the Season 13 mid-season update for League of Legends. The update brought massive changes to the current itemization and reworked many existing items. It also changed the Marksmen Items, including Infinity Edge.
Before the update, Infinity Edge was considered one of the go-to items for every Crit Marksmen. Now it’s not even a viable item for many Marksmen. The champions that used to build it no longer do; the reason for it is Galeforce. Galeforce currently outperforms Infinity Edge in almost every way; it has a built-in dash, has attack speed, and, in certain cases, does more damage. So why would players buy Infinity Edge? Well, they don’t; they buy Galeforce instead.
But Riot is looking to remedy that. On Patch 13.14, Riot is looking to buff Infinity Edge as well as Nerf Galeforce.

Infinity Edge Buffs
- Crit damage increased from 35% to 45%
- Attack damage reduced from 70 to 65
Infinity Edge’s Critical damage modifier is getting buffed from 35% to 45%. Though, its Attack Damage is going down by 5 to compensate for the buffs.
The buffs should make it more lucrative for Marksmen who heavily rely on Crit, but will it make the item good as it once was? Probably not. But it is a change in the right direction.
Release Date
The Infinity Edge buffs will be out on Patch 13.14, scheduled to release on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
