Riot is looking to shift Seraphine’s power more toward the Support role in Patch 13.21.
Riot recently released the patch preview for League of Legends Patch 13.21, and from the looks of it, we are getting some exciting changes. First of all, we are getting some balance changes, Jungle is getting changed yet again, Hullbreaker is finally getting adjusted, and Seraphine is getting some massive changes.
Since her release in 2020, Seraphine has been in a pretty awkward spot. The champion didn’t really bring anything new to the table and more or less felt like a Sona clone. Not only did these champions look similar, but their kits were also similar. Overall, it felt like she had an identity crisis.
Moreover, Seraphine was initially intended to be a supportive AP Mid Laner. But, as time passed, she shifted to a Bot Laner, and now she is played exclusively as a Support. Her base stats, though, remain comparable to Laners. As a result, she has been underperformed in the Support role. Thus, Riot has decided to shift her base stats more in line with Support champions.

Seraphine Changes
Here are all the proposed Seraphine changes,
Base Stats:
- Base Mana: 440 >>> 360.
- Mana Growth: 40 per level >>> 50 per level.
- Base Mana Regeneration: 8 >>> 11.5.
- Mana Regeneration Growth: 1 per level >>> 0.4 per level.
- Health Growth: 104 per level >>> 90 per level.
- Base Armor: 19 >>> 26.
- Q – High Note:
- Damage: 55/70/85/100/115 (+ 45/50/55/60/65% AP) >>> 55/80/105/130/155 (+ 50% AP).
- Cooldown: 10/8.75/7.5/6.25/5 seconds >>> 9/8/7/6/5 seconds.
- W – Surround Sound:
- Cooldown: 28/26/24/22/20 seconds >>> 28/25/22/19/16 seconds.
- Mana Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 >>> 80/85/90/95/100.
- Shield Strength: 50/70/90/110/130 (+ 25% AP) >>> 50/75/100/125/150 (+ 25% AP).
- Heal Per Ally: 5/5.5/6/6.5/7% (+0.4% per 100 AP) of target’s Missing Health >>> 3/3.5/4/4.5/5% of target’s Missing Health.
- E – Beat Drop:
- Damage: 60/80/100/120/140 (+ 35% AP) >>> 60/95/130/165/200 (+ 35% AP).
- Mana Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 >>> 60/65/70/75/80.
Seraphine’s Base Mana is going down by 80 Mana, but her Mana Growth, Base Mana Regeneration, and Mana Regeneration Growth are slightly buffed. Her Health Growth is getting nerfed a little, but her base Armor is increasing.
On the ability side, her Q – High Note, W – Surround Sound, and E – Beat Drop’s base damage is increasing significantly while their scaling is taking a hit.
Overall, these changes should make Support Seraphine considerably stronger, but Mid-Lane and Bot-Lane Seraphine will be weaker.

The Seraphine changes will hit live servers on Patch 13.21, released on Wednesday, Oct 25, 2023.
