Therefore, you should have consistent and reliable access to any resource in the game to ensure smooth progression.

Some of these resources are harder to gather than others. Powder Snow is a newer addition to the game and is a unique block. It causes players and mobs alike to fall through and take freezing damage, requiring leather boots to traverse.

Gathering Powder Snow
Powder Snow naturally forms in strips throughout snowy mountainous biomes, specifically the Groves and Snowy Slopes biomes added with the Cliffs and Caves update. While they are not hard to come across, they are tricky to gather. You cannot use regular tools to gather Powder Snow as it will simply break without a block dropping.
To gather Powder Snow, you’ll need an Empty Bucket and a Cauldron.
To craft a Bucket, you’ll need to use a Crafting Table and arrange three Iron Ingots as shown below:
To craft a Cauldron, you’ll need to use a Crafting Table and arrange five Iron Ingots as shown below:
Place your Cauldron in the open in a Snowy Biome, and it will automatically start collecting Powder Snow when it snows. You can then pick up the Powder Snow using an empty Bucket.
Do remember that in many snowy biomes, it only snows at high elevations, so you’ll probably want to move to higher altitudes to start farming Powder Snow.
Moreover, when traversing snowy biomes, you should take some precautions. Equip Leather Boots, so you can safely navigate powder snow. Alternatively, you can also enchant any pair of boots with the Frost Walker Enchantment. Furthermore, you can also use Sleds and Boats to move across Powder Snow quickly.
