Alan Wake II doesn’t go easy on you with its mysterious world, and at times, it can certainly feel like a daunting task knowing where to go, which area to investigate, and which area holds the key to the next room.
You will face one such situation in the enigmatic location of Caldera St.Station. Therefore, if you’re stuck in this particular section of the game and don’t know what to do, then don’t worry! We will go over everything that you need to know so that you don’t have to stay there for much longer!
How to Enter the Caldera Subway Station in Alan Wake 2
Upon reaching the station, Alan will say that there are no visible entrances to the subway station. At this point, you will need to use your newly acquired Angel Lamp to solve puzzles and change your surroundings in order to proceed. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Head West of the Station
Start walking towards your left, or west of the map from the station. Walk until you see a large red neon sign saying “Neighbourhood Illumination” that has a green arrow sign pointing to the right.
Grab the Light Source at the End of the Alley
Follow the arrow into the alley, and you should see a streetlight at the end of the value in front of the walls filled with graffiti. Then, use your Angel Lamp to retrieve the light and start heading back to the Subway Station.
Search for the Second Light Source Across the Bridge
However, that was only the first part of the puzzle. For you to head inside the station, you need a second light source. Therefore, start heading to the east of the station entrance.
You will see a flickering streetlight under which piles of boxes and garbage are blocking the entrance to the bridge stairs. Use your Angle Lamp to light up the streetlight, which will clear out the entrance to the staircase.
Climb up the Ladder on the Other Side
After you make yourself up the stairs, cross the tracks and look for a ladder that should be on your left. Climb up the ladder and through the door, and you’ll head into a save room. Go down the stairs and open the door to the next area.
Look for the Taxi
Coming back outside, turn left and take the first stairs to your right, following a yellow arrow. Once you reach a door, go up the building using the stairs until you reach the top, which, ironically, brings you to the streets. Now, if you look around, you should see a light source from the headlights of a Taxi.
Use your Angle Lamp to absorb the light from the taxi, which will turn it into a police vehicle.
Head Back to the Caldera St.Station Entrance
After collecting the light source from the taxi, start making your way to the station again. Remember to collect the light you placed near the stairs to the right of the station.
Use your first light to reveal the entrance to the subway. Finally, head down and use your second light to reveal the gates to the platform.
And that’s all there is to it! Your next task would be to explore the station platform using the ticket you have in your inventory.
