Alan Wake 2 is the latest release from Remedy Entertainment, and it lives up to its predecessors with the puzzles and mysteries you face throughout the game.
The first long-depth puzzle that you will come across is in the collapsed tunnel. Here, you must edit the scenes to open up a pathway for yourself. At a certain point, you will have to perform a ritual in order to go to the murder site.

If you have been struggling to complete the ritual, then you are not the only one. I have died multiple times completing this objective, which resulted in failure.
That’s why, in this guide, I will show you how to complete the ritual in the subway and proceed with your mission. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the details, shall we?
Completing the Collapsed Tunnel Ritual in the Subway
You will have to perform the ritual when you reach the scene: End of the Line; there, you will have to use the Murder Cult inspiration from the Plot Board to edit the current scene.
Doing so will change the surroundings in Red and showcase a wall of pages at the very end. Now, back up a bit, and you will hear an echo, which is Alex Casey speaking. It will add another inspiration: Summoning Ritual.
Next, you must change the scene to Summoning Ritual, rotate towards the back to cross the track, and then go over the water to the collapsed tunnel. Use the map, which should be marked as SCENE: Collapsed Tunnel.
Here, you must change the plot board to Summoning Ritual, which will cause a dark presence to chase you. Run back to the train carriage and pass through the side door to get out of its reach.
Once you have done that, the ritual in the subway will be completed, and the tunnel won’t be collapsed anymore.
