Riot has revealed the upcoming Caitlyn skin, Heartthrob Caitlyn, which will release on patch 13.3.
Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that takes place on February 14th. It is a day when people express their love and gratitude with greetings and gifts. Many modern games and media celebrate this event. And League of Legends is one of them.
Since 2012, with the release of Heartseeker Vayne skin, Riot has released many cosmetics for Valentine’s Day. Some skin lines Riot introduced for Valentine’s are Heartseeker, Debonair, Crystal Rose, Withered Rose, etc.
Last year, Riot released Withered Rose skins for Valentine’s. And for the current year, Riot will release a new skin line for Valentine’s Day.
For this year, Riot has revealed the Heartache and Heartthrob skin line. It is a skin line themed after high schools, like Battle Academia. But unlike Battle Academia, Heartache and Heartthrob are more akin to high school romance than battles. This new skin line features unique skins for three different champions. They are Vi, Caitlyn, and Amumu.
Caitlyn is a marksman champion released in 2011. In-game, she is a potent ADC. As she is very well-designed, players can play Caitlyn on every meta. Moreover, even outside of League of Legends, Caitlyn is very popular. More than a year ago, Riot released an animated show called Arcane. And that show featured Caitlyn as one of the main characters. As that show got popular, so did its characters. And that’s how Caitlyn got famous outside of League.
Furthermore, Caitlyn has one of the highest numbers of skins in League of Legends, with over 15 of them. And there are no signs of slowing down since Heartthrob Caitlyn is coming out very soon.

Release Date
The Heartache and Heartthrob skin line is expected to be launched around patch 13.3. And it is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023.
